What the MythoSelf Process Actually Is

If you’ve spent any time on this site, you’ll have seen the MythoSelf Process mentioned — but what actually is it? At its core, it’s a coaching methodology built around a simple but demanding idea: real change has to happen at the level of the body’s experience, not just at the level of talking about change.

The MythoSelf Process guides personal transformation and identity change

The Generative Imprint Model and Soma-Semantic Modelling

The process was built on the foundation of the Generative Imprint model — the idea that people can be guided toward what’s called a Generalised Desired State: a resourceful, expansive position from which options feel genuinely open, rather than constrained by old patterns. That state isn’t just a mood. It has a specific physical signature — posture, breath, the small unconscious adjustments that come before conscious thought — and it’s this physical signature, not just the verbal description of feeling good, that the MythoSelf Process works with directly. This lines up with what researchers studying embodied cognition have found: the body isn’t a passive bystander while the mind does the real work, it’s part of how thinking and change actually happen.

The method for tracking that physical signature is what we call Soma-Semantic Modelling: paying close attention to the pre-verbal, physical responses a person has to their own experience, and using those responses as the actual material of the coaching work. Once that resourceful state is established and made reliably accessible, the process moves further — toward what’s called the Greater-Than-Self position, a sense of connection to something beyond the purely personal. From the interplay of those two positions, a person’s own personal narrative — their sense of who they are becoming — starts to become visible and workable, rather than just implicit.

Why the MythoSelf Process Takes This Approach

None of this is abstract philosophy for its own sake. The practical aim is straightforward: most people carry around a felt sense that something is missing, some low-grade dissatisfaction even when life looks fine on paper. The MythoSelf Process is designed to work directly with that sense — not by analysing it intellectually, but by rebuilding the underlying physical and narrative architecture that produces it.

It’s a more involved approach than a single coaching technique, and that’s deliberate. Confidence issues, stuck patterns, a sense of living below your own potential — these rarely come from one isolated cause, and they don’t usually resolve from one isolated technique either.
